Hanging Out –

“At the time
I was just living my life, but looking back I can now see that it was something
quite remarkable,” admits the model, actress and journalist, Carinthia West (born
1951), reflecting on her life in the 1970s, when she was, as she terms it,
“just hanging out” with the likes of Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, David Bowie,
Helen Mirren, Anjelica Huston – and the list could go on! Untrained in
photography, but armed with a Canon EF 35mm single-lens reflex camera, West
quite simply enjoyed taking snapshots of her friends as they went about their
day-to-day business.
